Palestine, Texas- Palestine Main Street and the Farmers Market Association are hosting the 2nd Annual Farm & Flower Market at the Farmers Market Pavilion on March 28 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. during the second weekend of the Dogwood Trails Celebration.
The outdoor Farm & Flower Market will feature local and regional farmers and gardeners at the Farmers Market Pavilion, 815 W. Spring. The special market kicks off the season at the pavilion and is a once-yearly event.
“The Farm & Flower Market last year was an outstanding success! Vendors sold out within hours of opening, and we hope to do the same this year,” said Laura Westgate, Main Street Manager. “The whole reason for this type of market is to offer people a chance to buy local and to see the amazing wealth of options a small market offers.”
The market is once again partnering with the Anderson County Master Gardeners to extend their sale from the first weekend of Dogwood Trails. The Master Gardeners will be selling 1000 dogwood seedlings, native flowering trees, Chamblee roses, native Texas bushes and trees, and a few exotics like fig and pomegranate.
A new component for the 2015 market is the addition of garden décor and accessories. Westgate said, “Last year we focused on farm produce and gardening plants and trees, but this adds a whole different spin. Every gardener loves to add lighting, cute signs, gazing balls and other fun things, and now they can! Pick out your plants, buy something for dinner that night and grab some yard bling… it’s a full shopping experience.”
Thirteen vendors from Palestine to as far away as Dallas, will be selling all manner of trees, plants, garden and patio décor, fresh produce, artisan breads, local pecans, honey and so much more.
