Alto, Texas- Experience the real life and story of the Caddo Indians on Aprill 11, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Caddo Mounds State Historic Site. Visit with Caddo Indians and learn about how they lived centuries ago on Caddo Culture Day. Explore the history of this ancient site from the Burial Mound to what was once the residence of a Hasinai Caddo Tribe. Enjoy a live performance of Caddo Indian cultural music. Take part in clay bowl making, corn husk dolls and natural dyes, flint knapping, atlatl throwing, guided tours, American Indian exhibits, Native American jewelry, and many other fun activities.
Admission is FREE. Donations to the Friends of Caddo Mounds, Inc. are appreciated! Cameras are permitted and lawn chairs are encouraged!
Caddo Mounds State Historic Site is located west of Alto, Texas at 1649 State Highway 21.
