Then, onDecember 16, at 2 p.m., auditions for the dancers of this musical will take place at the Texas. Actors and actresses high school age and up are invited to audition.

“Ghosts: The Musical” is about a very old theater that is in danger of being torn down because it is in poor condition. Sound familiar? But the actors and actresses that love this theater and the actors and actresses who have passed on COME BACK and save the theater! This show has been dubbed a Ghoulish-Haunted-Otherwordly-Spooktacular-Theatrical-Show! You will laugh and you will cry.

If you love the Texas Theater, this show is for you! And, as if this wasn’t enough, there is a real possibility that the fabulous writer of this show, WILL JONES, will be coming to the Texas for the opening of our show! It doesn’t get any better than that. Oh, if these walls could talk, what would they say?

Then, on Saturday, October 27, at 10 a.m. Palestine Community Theatre will hold auditions for “A Christmas Carol,” adapted by Gerry Don Goodwin. Actors and actresses from ages 6 to 100 are invited to audition for this classic tale, which will come to life on stage this December.

Goodwin’s adaptation embraces Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol,” about Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly old man who believes that Christmas is just an excuse for people to miss work and for idle people to expect handouts. He doesn’t believe in all of the good cheer and charity that the season promotes, and he makes sure everyone knows it.

Then one night, Scrooge is visited by the ghost of his former business associate, Jacob Marley—a man who was as greedy and cold as Scrooge is. Three ghosts visit Scrooge successively: the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present, and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. They show Scrooge his error in valuing money over people. Scrooge is frightened by the bleak picture of his life and promises to change his ways. He awakes on Christmas morning a new man and carries the spirit of Christmas with him all the year round!
