The Piney Woods Wine Trail was established in 2010 and covers a vast area throughout the region from Athens, Canton and Sulphur Springs all the way to Naples, Tyler and Palestine. The Piney Woods Wine Trail currently includes 17 wineries making it the second biggest trail in the State.

By Dana Goolsby
Elmwood- Just off the beaten path of the Texas Forest Trail, along Anderson County Road 441, Sweet Dreams Winery rests in Elmwood. Long, long ago this area was known for moonshine making along the spring-fed creek but today award winning sweet spirits flow out of Elmwood.
