Palestine, Texas- It’s almost time for the big red curtain to open for “Forever Plaid” at the Historic Texas Theatre in Downtown Palestine! Starting tomorrow, Thursday, May 29, through Sunday, June 1, the neon lights of the Texas will be glowing downtown as four local voices carry you back in time with songs you will know and love.

This year Palestine Community Theatre is adding a special one-weekend performance to their 2014 season lineup in order to help raise funds for the facade restoration project. May 2014 holds plaid, comedy, and harmony for the Historic Texas Theatre as PCT strives to keep the Texas beautiful!

Forever Plaid is one of the most popular and successful musicals in recent memory. This deliciously goofy revue centers on four fun and eager male singers killed in a car crash in the 1950′s on the way to their first big concert, and now miraculously revived for they set out to fulfill their dreams by performing the show that never was.

Singing in the closest of harmony, squabbling boyishly over the smallest intonations and executing their charmingly outlandish choreography with over-zealous precision, the “Plaids” are a guaranteed smash, with a program of beloved songs and delightful patter that keeps audiences rolling in the aisles when they’re not humming along to some of the great nostalgic pop hits of the 1950′s.

PCT is mad about plaid and to prove it they are hosting a Plaid Party. Dust off your old plaid suit or find some new plaid duds and join PCT for a complimentary wine and cheese reception on Friday, May 30, at 6:30p.m.

Forever Plaid will run one weekend only beginning on Thursday, May 29 through Sunday June 1. Thursday and Friday night PCT will host a complimentary wine and cheese reception beginning at 6:30p.m. The curtain will open at 7:30p.m. Thursday through Saturday performances will begin at 7;30p.m. and 2p.m. on Sunday. Come out to support the arts in Palestine and help Keep the Texas beautiful!
Tickets are $8 for students, ages 4-18, and $12 for adults. Tickets are available locally at the Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce, Dogwood Diner, Switch, Sears, Discount Pools, and Education Unlimited. Tickets may also be purchased online at at
