Gator Country is an alligator theme park located off Interstate 10 in Beaumont. Guests can see the lifespan of an alligator and get up close and personal with nature. The park has over 350 alligators and 4 species of crocodiles along with Caimans, alligator snapping turtles, snakes, and other reptiles on the preserve.
Gator Country is home to Big Al, the 84-year old former Texas State captive record alligator measuring in at 13 ft. 4 in. and weighing more than 1,000 lbs, as well as Big Tex, the National record holder for the largest live-captured nuisance alligator measuring in at 13 feet 8 ½ inches.
Gary Saurage, the founder of Gator Country, opened our doors to the public in 2005. He and his team are known for rescuing nuisance alligators from people’s backyards, ponds, swimming pools, as well as gators stranded after severe weather like hurricanes and floods.
Hold baby alligators, help the Gator Country team feed them, or just watch from a safe distance.
