Summer 2012 is all about color! From pastel pinks to neon green, color abounds everywhere I go. Sometimes it can be difficult to find out which color works for your specific skin tone. Therefore, I decided to put together a few tips for dressing for your skin tone this summer.
If Your Skin Tone is Pale you definitely want to avoid looking like a washed-out tweaker from “Breaking Bad”. You can accomplish this by sticking to the paler colors of the season. Colors like soft oranges (think melon) and blues (think sky) will complement paler skin tones.
Option number two is to look for colors that are neutral to your skin tone like beige or cream. Helpful Hint: If you wear beige or cream, add gold accessories to add a
bit of warmth to the ensemble.
If Your Skin Tone is Medium then it will be harder for you to dress this spring/summer. Pastels can wash you out, whereas brighter colors can add a yellow
tint to your skin. Stick with middle-of-the-road colors like tan, standard green, and standard yellow.
If Your Skin Tone is Dark then you’re in luck. All colors, from the brightest blue to the most basic black, will look fabulous on you. Just because you can, play around with the bright colors of the season. Try lime greens and raspberry pinks. You can also have fun with bright purples and neon oranges.
