JEFFERSON-  There’s a unique charming quality to the Christmas season in Jefferson, Texas. The historic homes, carriage rides and brick streets give the feeling of stepping into a Currier and Ives lithograph. This weekend folks will stroll through the Candlelight Tour of Homes, ride the Rail of Lights at the Historic Jefferson Railway and enjoy an old fashioned Christmas parade. This weekend there is also the bonus of a Christmas Open House.

Jefferson Historic Home2This gorgeous historic home was built in 1902 and is available for sale, lease or rent to own. The home features three bedrooms, two and one-half baths in immaculate condition, uniquely situated across from picturesque church built in 1860’s. Completely modernized with beautiful hardwood floors throughout, the home features 12 ft. ceilings with crown molding in every room. A wide plank porch running the length of the home welcomes visitors and offers an outdoor living space. Striking giant pecan oak trees in back yard create a shady retreat stretching to the street – offering the privacy of no backyard neighbors. Central heat and air with a gas water heater guarantee your comfort year around. An old-fashioned picket fence surrounds the entire yard. All within easy walking distance of Jefferson’s delightful downtown activities and restaurants.

The gourmet kitchen features new granite counter tops and tumbled ceramic tile back splash, a new high-efficiency dishwasher, and a new smooth-top ceramic range. Stained glass windows fill the area with light. A huge dining area, located next to the kitchen, becomes the centerpiece for family gatherings – plenty of room for a china cabinet, book cases, or other cabinets for collectibles.

Relax in the huge master bedroom with attached romantic sun room. A walk-in closet, double-hung windows, and connected master bath complete this private retreate. The master bath features an over-sized tiled shower, his and her separate vanity areas, and polished nickel fixtures. Two large guest bedrooms are filled with light pouring through multiple antique glass windows. The recently renovated guest bathroom features a ceramic tile bath and shower combination.  One or both of these rooms could easily be converted to an office or craft room. A two-car detached garage offers a workshop and more storage. This modern feature is unique among historic homes in Jefferson.
