New Jefferson Boat Ramp Open
JEFFERSON- The new Jefferson boat ramp, on Big Cypress Bayou, is open and there has been a big up tick in traffic on the east end of Austin Street. From canoes & kayaks to fishing boats, many outdoor enthusiasts have been enjoying the beauty of the East Texas spring weather.
For the fisherman and fisher-woman, the Jefferson Transportation and Visitor Center offers ample parking for your truck and trailer. The center also provides clean rest rooms and lots of information on Jefferson’s attractions, upcoming events, restaurants, shops and accommodations.
The canoeist and kayaker can use the new Jefferson boat ramp to access ten new Texas Paddling Trails. Texas Parks and Wildlife recently designated these trails along Big Cypress Bayou and across Caddo Lake. It’s easy to make Jefferson your base, as you explore all ten of these Texas Paddling Trails.
The new Jefferson boat ramp is located at the end of East Austin Street, adjacent to the Historic Jefferson Railway Train Depot. The Jefferson Transportation and Visitor Center is located at 305 East Austin Street, across the street from the new boat ramp.
