Show “Us Your Shorts” Downtwon Tyler Film Festival

Tyler- The 2011 Down Town Tyler Film Festival is the kick off event of a new venue in East Texas! This year’s inaugural theme is “Show Us Your Shorts,” and will be showcasing original short comedy films that have been recently produced in Texas October 12-15.

The festival will kick off Wednesday, October 12 at 6:00p.m., with a sidewalk party to celebrate the festival. Curtain time inside the Liberty will be 7:30 p.m., and at approximately 9 p.m., an after-party will follow.

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, the theater will open at 7 p.m. with a curtain time of 7:30 p.m. each night. Ticket-holders will be able to vote for a People’s Choice winner, which will be announced on the evening of Oct. 15. After the final movie on Oct.15, a “meet the filmmaker” wrap party will be held at Gallery Main Street, 110 W. Erwin.

Films will be 15 minutes or less ranging from funny, bittersweet and bizarre. The shows will be featured at the newly renovated Liberty Hall in Downtown Tyler. Tickets are $7.50 in advance through Liberty Hall online and $10 at the door Thursday-Saturday. Tickets to the Opening Gala on Wednesday night are $50.
