Slocum PFK to Host Annual Fall Fest
SLOCUM- Have you ever been to the Slocum Fall Fest? If not, you are truly missing out. This event provides entertainment for the whole family. You like bounce houses? They have ‘em. You want your face painted like a unicorn or batman? Done. You like to eat candy, walk in circles for cake, or bid on some fancy-schmancy stuff provided by businesses and individuals in our area? You bet! This year, you can even cook or sample some of Texas’ state dish: chili! Kids can come in their favorite costume, play until their hearts are content, and consume enough candy for month (and what they don’t eat by Halloween, you can pass out to Trick-or-Treaters).
Slocum’s Fall Fest runs from 6-8PM on Friday, October 25. You can purchase tickets for $0.25 each or get a hand stamp for $20. The hand stamp will get you unlimited games, face paintings, hair colorings, and trips into the bounce house. The chili cook-off competition has some rules and stuff so contact Brandy DeFore at (903) 391-3607 for more information or you can email me and I’ll forward you the rules and the entry form. You can also pick up an entry form and copy of the rules at Slocum School.
This event is sponsored and benefits Slocum PFK (Parents For Kids). All the money raised by this organization goes back to the kids in the form of School Programs and scholarships. Let’s get the season kicked off right. Come support Slocum school and PFK. Oh, and I will be there, too. Come see me at Putt-Putt golf!
