Crockett, Texas- The World Championship Fiddlers Festival of Crockett, Texas returns to its roots as an outdoor event on Saturday, October 25, 2014 in the Davy Crockett Memorial Park in Crockett. Fiddlers of all ages will compete for the World Championship title. In addition to the fiddling competition, the audience will enjoy other quality entertainment throughout the day.
Nacogdoches, Texas – Come hear the stories and see the sights of the oldest town in Texas each Saturday in October, excluding SFA’s homecoming weekend (October 25). Historic downtown walking tours start at 10:30 a.m. at the Visitor Center, located at 200 E. Main St. Tickets are $3 and can be purchased beginning at 10 a.m. the day of the tour. Children 12 and under are free.

Jefferson, Texas- Since Jefferson played a key role in the Trans-Mississippi Department’s military/industrial complex, Jefferson Is a natural location for hosting Civil War Symposiums during the current Civil War Sesquicentennial. The symposium will take place on Saturday, August 9, from 8a.m.-5p.m., at the Jeffersonian Institute, 120 E. Austin, in Jefferson, Texas.
