Palestine, Texas– It’s almost time to open the big red curtain at the Historic Texas Theatre for Palestine Community Theatre’s annual spring show. This year, PCT will perform Love, Sex and the IRS under the direction of Jim Vincill.
Love, Sex and the IRS is a light comedy about guys-guy roommates, Jon and Leslie, declaring themselves married on their tax returns to save money. The day of reckoning comes when the Internal Revenue Service informs the “couple” they’re going to be investigated. Leslie masquerades as a housewife, aided by Jon’s fiancee, Kate. Complicating matters further Leslie and Kate are having an affair behind Jon’s back, Jon’s mother drops in unexpectedly to meet her son’s fiancee, and Leslie’s ex girlfriend shows up demanding to know why Leslie has changed and won’t see her anymore. Love, Sex and the IRS is like a cross between I Love Lucy and Some Like it Hot!
Opening night of Love, Sex and the IRS is Friday, March 20, at 7:30p.m. Doors will open at 6:30p.m. for the gala. Complimentary wine beer and hors-d’oeuvres will be served before the show.
