Palestine, Texas- Preparations are underway for the Texas State Railroad’s third annual Dogwood Special Brunch Train.
Set for Saturday, March 26, the train will depart from the Palestine Depot at 10am and return around 1pm.
The four-course meal includes fresh-cut Pineapple, Honeydew and Cantaloupe on a skewer topped with sweet cream dip for the first course. For the second course guests have the option of either a Breakfast Croissant with scrambled eggs, Black Forest Ham and sliced Swiss cheese or a Breakfast Morning Quiche with Italian Sausage. The third course is a Maple Brown Sugar Pecan Pastry. The fourth course is comprised of fresh apple slices, assorted grapes and cheddar cheese with assorted crackers.
Drinks include gourmet regular and decaf coffee, tender leaf sweet and unsweet iced tea and iced water. Beer, wine, Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s, (both alcohol and virgin options,) are available for purchase.
The highlight of the train ride is the viewing of the dogwoods blooming profusely in their native wooded habitat throughout the East Texas Forest Country.
