7th Annual Party In the Pines
LONGVIEW- East Texas provides a unique opportunity for great riding. This Memorial Day, get out on the open road and head to Longview for the 7th Annual Party In the Pines rally. This is an open three-day motorcycle rally promoting community patriotism and raising money for veterans and kids. There will be vendors, inside entertainment, a patriotic bike parade through the city, guided rides, self guided rides, RV & Tent camping, and lots more May 25-27.
The scenic piney woods rides will provide you time on your own to get out unwind and enjoy the freedom of the back roads in East Texas. Route maps for several great rides will be furnished at the registration tent and the inside beer garden. Party in the Pines will host several guided rides promising to show some of the best East Texas has to offer. The 2012 Joker Run will be on a new route with new stops and challenges. Five riders will have the chance to win $10,000. First bike out at (;00 a.m. and last bike out at 11:00 a.m.
Saturday, May 26, the bike show will begin at the Longview Fairgrounds. Over $1,200 in cash prizes will be awarded. Bike classes consist of sport bike, stock, stock custom, custom, antique, trike/sidecar, rat (no frills, dressed down, little or no chrome, backyard paint jobs & shade tree customs preferred), and people’s choice. Cash prizes will be paid in each Class: $100 for 1st, $50 for 2nd, and $150 Cash for Best in Show.
There will be live entertainment Friday and Saturday night. Borderline, The Alan Fox Band, Back in Black, Teazur, and Dazed are all scheduled to make appearances at the rally.
Tickets can be purchased at the rally site, or pre-register online at pinerally.com and get a t-shirt and tickets to jump start the party.
The patriotic bike parade will be held Sunday, May 27. Staging begins at 1:00 p.m. and will leave the rally site at 2:00 p.m. A limited number of flags will be provided for all bikes.
