Tyler- The undeniable aroma of hundreds of thousands of Tyler roses is in the air. The 81st Annual Texas Rose Festival will take place October 16-18, in Tyler, Texas. Make plans to “stop and smell the roses” this weekend in Tyler, Texas!
The Texas Rose Festival celebrates the region’s history of growing roses since its beginning in 1933. This fun annual weekend in Tyler is geared around the beauty of roses and offers numerous events for the entire family.
This year’s theme is Cirque de la Rose, set to be carried out with a mix of pageantry and circus-inspired thrills. The Rose Show in Rose Garden Center will feature more than 10,000 blooms from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 12 p.m.- 5 p.m. on Oct. 19. The American Rose Society, the nation’s largest rose organization, is holding its national convention in conjunction with this year’s festival. Its display of rose arrangements will be on view in Rose Garden Center.
The Rose Parade will kick off at 9 a.m. at Glenwood and Front streets. The parade will proceed west on Front Street ending inside Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium. A pre-parade show in the stadium also begins at 9 a.m. This year’s parade will feature more than 120 entries. A series of new floats will pay tribute to life in East Texas.
