96th East Texas State Fair

Tyler- The 96th East Texas State Fair will open its gates Thursday, Sept. 22 through Oct. 2, for 11 days of fun, food, and friends in Tyler. The East Texas State Fair has everything from swimming pigs to sand sculptures! Don’t miss this nearly century old celebration in East Texas!

If your taste buds have been craving some delicious fair food, you won’t have to wait much longer! Fair food will be on tap for 11 days. Whether you like fried food, food on a stick, or funnel cakes you will not be disappointed.

The East Texas State fair will also host a variety of entertainment. The stage will be rocking with something for everyone this year!

Competitions at local Fairs are a long held tradition, from longhorns to quilting to photography. Enter or watch one of the many competitions at the east Texas State Fair.

Competitions

Creative Arts Competitive Exhibits will be on display in the Creative Arts Building, Building A from September 22 through October 1. Entries will be accepted in early September.

Catalogs will be mailed in the summer and will be posted online.

The inaugural Ag Mechanics Competition will showcase and encourage Ag Shop skills.

The entries will be on display inside Harvey Convention Center.Entries will be due September 1st.

The Hay Show & Auction will be held Monday, September 26 in the South Pavilion. Join your friends for an exciting lunch and auction.

The Livestock Show will begin on September 23, and last through October 1. The on-time postmark deadline is September 1, 2011. Online registration is now accessible.

The Pasture and Wildlife Identification competition will be Friday, September 23. Photography Competitive Exhibits will be accepted at Batten Photography. Exhibits will be on display in Harvey Convention Center.

Livestock Show

September 22 – October 2, 2011

On-Line Registration – All entries MUST be registered online through ShoWorks. Choose Log-in from the Start Page and then select type for login – Club for FFA & 4-H Clubs; Exhibitor for Open Show.  Junior entries must be submitted by the County Agent or Ag Science Teacher as a group.

On-Time Entry Deadline: Tuesday, September 6, 2011

Late Entries: Accepted online with Late Fee September 7 – September 12, 2011

Schools or Clubs with new teachers or agents or changes to e-mails are asked to please send updated information to the Livestock Office by e-mail.

RV Information

RV spaces are on a “first come, first served” basis.

Full hook-ups are $25/day, all other hook-ups are $20/day.

Upon arrival you must check-in with the office prior to parking
