Have Fun In NAC This Weekend- If you are in Deep East Texas and looking for some weekend fun make your way to Nacogdoches this weekend! This weekend Nacogdoches will be full of fun for everyone.
The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Art and Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau will be presenting “El Camino Real de los Tejas,” at the Cole Art Center at The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches. The traveling exhibition features 30 photographs taken by SFA Associate Professor of Art Christopher Talbot of sites along the historical El Camino Real, from Mexico to Louisiana’s Nachitoches Parish. The show will run through Saturday, July 23rd. Regular gallery hours are 12:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free.
The Nacogdoches Photographic Association Show will also be at the SFA Cole Art Center at The Old Opera House in downtown Nacagodoches. Sixty photographs have been selected that will be exhibited in the Reavley Gallery. Regular gallery hours are 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Nacogdoches Trade Days will also be going on this weekend. The trade days are open from dawn until dusk on Loop 224 across from Foretravel, 1304 NW Stallings.
The Nacogdoches Public Library will also be hosting a family movie matinee, featuring “True Grit” at noon. There will be free popcorn and lemonade available for those who attend. The Nacogdoches Public Library is located at 1112 North Street.
The Nacogdoches Farmers Market will be full of local produce this weekend as well. Support local farmers by swinging by this weekend and purchasing locally grown produce and local handmade items. The Lamp-Lite Theatre will be presenting “The Sound of Music” this weekend. The theatre is located on Old Tyler Road and Loop 224. Admission is $8 for students and seniors, and $15 for adults.
