Home Grant program helps locals rehabilitate their homes, application deadline Sept. 27
PALESTINE- The City of Palestine has completed another of many Home Grant projects for deserving residents. A 2013 recipient of the Home Grant is Ms. Annie Lacey.
The home grant program is being administered by Traylor and Associates and is a contract partnership to provide new homes for people in the Palestine city limits. Homeowners, if qualified, can use the funding to completely reconstruct or rehabilitate their home. The city will work with local citizens to improve their housing, with the goal being to replace in-need housing. The applicant must prove ownership of the property, it must be inside the city limits and not in a flood zone, taxes must be current and the home must be their permanent residence. The type of grant or loan will be based upon the homeowner’s proof of wages, benefits, pensions, annuities, etc.
Applications are available at City Hall and must be turned in at Palestine City Hall, 504 N. Queen St. Palestine, Texas 75801. Application deadline is Sept. 27, 2013.
