Music Talent Hopefully To Be Discovered During Marshall Music Festival
MARSHALL- Talented musicians from Marshall and the surrounding region will be center stage during the Marshall Music Festival’s Music Talent Competition, scheduled for Tuesday, September 17 in historic downtown Marshall. Musicians, vocalists and instrumentalists are encouraged to be a part of the Marshall Music Festival to share their talents with the audience and compete against other area talent.
Open to all ages, those with the best musical talent could win the $200 grand prize or the $100 second place cash award. A panel of four judges will evaluate competitors and choose the winners. Contestants will be allowed five minutes for their performance which includes entering the stage, performing and exiting the stage.
The Marshall Convention and Visitors Bureau encourages talented musicians from the region to participate and enjoy the fun the competition will bring to Marshall.
The contest will be held at 7 p.m. at OS2 Restaurant and Pub in the Washington Square district of downtown Marshall on Tuesday, September 17. While there is no entry fee to compete, each competing musician must complete and return their application form to the Marshall CVB by Tuesday, September 10. All performers are responsible for providing their own music and any instruments they wish to use.
The Music Talent Competition will be a highlight of the Marshall Music Festival. Beginning Friday, September 13 and continuing through Saturday, September 21, the Festival will feature a rich blend of vastly different musical styles showcasing the uniqueness of Marshall. Coupled with the charm of Marshall’s historic downtown, visitors are sure to enjoy this fun-filled celebration of music.
