Palestine, Texas – Save the date for Palestine Main Street’s inaugural Wine Swirl event in the streets and stores of historic downtown this holiday season! December 13, from 4-7 p.m., downtown Palestine will host Texas wineries partnered with Texas eateries for a taste of Texas just in time for Christmas in Palestine! Tickets for the Wine Swirl will go on sale October 21, and will be limited.
A wine swirl is a special event designed to draw visitors to the downtown area and into local businesses and buildings. Events such as these have been very successful in other Texas communities such as Nacogdoches, Georgetown, LaGrange, and Tyler. Up to 400 people will come to Downtown Palestine to enjoy wine and food samples, listen to music, shop, and enjoy the downtown atmosphere.
Local artisans, pop-up stores, live music, art, and southern hospitality will be uncorked in downtown Palestine during the Wine Swirl.
“Wine is becoming a big part of the Texas economy. Main Street wants to harness the economic impact and help bring people to downtown and inside local businesses,” said Palestine Main Street Manager Laura Westgate. “More importantly, we want everyone to come have a fun time downtown!”
The Wine Swirl will begin at 4 p.m. on December 13, and last until 7 p.m. The event will be capped at 400 tickets. Tickets are $40 in advance or $50 the day of the event, and will go on sale Tuesday, October 21. Tickets will be available online via outhousetickets.com or locally at the Palestine Visitor Center (825 W. Spring St.) and the Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce (401 W. Main).
Ticketholders will receive a wine glass, lanyard ticket holder with a map, and samples from 10 wine and food “tasting rooms.” Attendees will be able to pick up their Swirl Packets the evening of the event at 306 N. Sycamore Street.
The Palestine Main Street Wine Swirl will offer a fantastic opportunity for holiday shopping with wine and unique items from vendors and local merchants, and local stores will offer wine swirl shopping. Visitors who spend the weekend will also have the added benefit of enjoying a full calendar of events in town during Christmas in Palestine.
Wine Swirl Proceeds will be used to enhance the beautification and promotion efforts of historic downtown Palestine.
