Palestine Mardi Gras Parade

Palestine Mardi Gras Parade

PALESTINE- Did you miss the Mardi Gras Parade and Festivities? Don’t fret! MYETX Team members were on the scene.

Saturday, February 2, the City of Palestine hosted its third annual Mardi Gras Celebration over the weekend in Historic Downtown Palestine. The parade and celebration is a combined effort of the Mystics of Time Mardi Gras Krewe and the Palestine Main Street District.

Before the parade, local chefs and wineries came together downtown to give Palestine a “Taste of New Orleans.” Chefs teamed up with local wineries and presented cajun recipes. Our friends over at Fork In the Road presented palestine with “Red Dreams and Rice.” Chef Lulu got rave reviews for her red beans and rice, which was set off nicely with wine from Sweet Dreams Winery.

Jazz music filled the air in Palestine Saturday evening as the parade made its way from the Anderson County Courthouse into downtown. After the parade, many proceded to the annual Mardi Gras Ball which was held at the Palestine Civic Center.
