Dana Goolsby, a sixth-generation Texan, was born and raised in Grapeland, Texas. She spent her youth listening to tall tales and area folklore that have been passed down from generation to generation. With history around every corner in Houston County it is no wonder she went on to become a writer and photographer with a love for the Pineywoods of East Texas.
Today, Goolsby resides in beautiful, historic Palestine, Texas where she is the marketing director of the Historic Texas Theatre, and owner and editor of MYETX.com. She travels all over East Texas in search of Texas history, folklore and legends, places to eat, and fun things to do.
