Super Rich Hot Buttered Rum
Well, I’m at it again. If you’ve been following along with me on Free Range Foodie, you know I bought a huge bottle of Sailor Jerry’s Spiced Rum a couple of weeks ago to make what turned out to be a delicious Spiked Spiced Apple Cider. Now I’m left in a horrible position – too much rum. What on earth am I going to do? Duh! I’m going to drink it . You should come help… Here’s what you missed last night.
Super Rich Hot Buttered Rum

This Hot Buttered Rum is a warm, very rich, creamy delight for those cold nights.
Ingredients
- ½ lb butter
- ½ lb powdered sugar
- ½ lb brown sugar
- 1 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 pint vanilla ice cream (at room temperature)
- 1½ ounces rum
- boiling water
Instructions
- Prepare the base:
- Combine the butter, powdered sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and ice cream in a large mixing bowl and blend until it is mixed thoroughly.
- Prepare your drink:
- Boil water
- Place 4 tablespoons of the base in a large coffee mug with 1½ ounces of rum.
- Add the hot water
- Stir and enjoy!
- Note:Store the leftover base in your freezer for future use. You may leave out the rum for the kids. They will love it!
