The Retail Coach will Present Data on Leakage Study for Palestine Area Businesses

PALESTINE- The Palestine Economic Development Corporation is hosting the The Retail Coach® as they present important data for community businesses regarding Palestine’s retail trade area and a leakage study. The presentation on Tuesday, May 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Palestine Civic Center is free and open to the public.

The Palestine Economic Development Corporation invites business owners and entrepreneurs to join them for this “can’t miss” event that will give business owners a different perspective by providing unique information specifically tailored to the City of Palestine.

The Palestine Economic Development Corporation contracted The Retail Coach® to perform the retail trade area analysis and leakage study back in January 2012.

Aaron Farmer, Vice President of The Retail Coach, will present the findings from the study performed that defines the primary and secondary trade area in Palestine and details on what areas have room to grow their sales.

“The Palestine Economic Development Corporation decided, with the support of City Council, to bring in The Retail Coach to foster our existing business community and to grow our community by offering more opportunities to new and existing businesses,” said Wendy Ellis, economic development director. “We are looking forward to the possibilities this study opens to our community.”

The Retail Coach® is a national retail consulting, marketing research and development firm that combines strategy, technology and creative expertise to develop and deliver high-impact retail recruitment and development strategies to local governments and economic development organizations.

They do this by combining current national and statewide demographics and trend data with real world “on-the-ground” data gathered through extensive visits to the Palestine community. Their emphasis was on “what is our trade area” and “what retail segments are we missing.” They spent many hours gathering data on who came to shop, where they focused their shopping, what businesses they were looking for and what we have to offer that can be better leveraged.
