3rd Annual Route 49 Biker Rally Kicks Off This Weekend In Jefferson

Motorcycle_Jefferson, Texas-  The 3rd Annual Route 49 Biker Rally will be held June 6-8, 2014 at the Diamond Don RV Park in Jefferson, Texas. The weekend will begin at noon on Friday when the beer garden opens.  James Novey and Diamond Don Rainey, organizers for the Rally,  will host a meet and greet BBQ for pre-registered weekend guests Friday evening and two bands will play that night.

Events on Saturday include a Poker Run, Bike Show, Biker Games, Music Concerts and beer garden.  Events kick off at 10:00 with the Poker Run and will continue until midnight.

This family-friendly event will offer something for everyone, whether you come on a bike, in the Rally bus or in your car.

The RV Park is a perfect venue for this Rally, just one mile from downtown Jefferson. Participants will enjoy some great concerts and beer garden under a large tent. Vendors and food concessions will be located nearby.  There will be a variety of music during the weekend, sure to bring people together.  Meet some new friends or catch up with old ones.

Lacie Carpenter and Rebel Rose will perform at 6:00 pm on Friday with a mix of bluegrass, Celtic and rock and roll.  Lacie says “that like the fiddlers before me, I keep the sound true, but amp it up a little with my 7 string Mark Wood fretted, yes, fretted Viper.”  Lacie is the winner of six East Texas Music Awards; but the ones she is most proud of is Fiddler of the Year 2012 and 2013.

The Chris LeBlanc Band from Baton Rouge takes the stage at 8:00 on both Friday and Saturday evenings.  LeBlanc is a musician’s musician and a performer’s performer.  Wowing audiences from town to town throughout America, Chris is living his dream by going out and touching people with his vibrant “BigMan” persona and real larger-than-life kind spirit.

LeBlanc has been writing and recording music in his private studio.  He says “my new music resonates a rich bluesy sound of the south and pays homage to some of my greatest influences.”  That sound is reminiscent of The Rolling Stones, Muddy Waters and every juke joint in-between.

East Texas Garage Band, playing at 2:00 on Saturday, is “One Loud, In Your Face, Rock N Roll Band!” ETGB plays classic rock with a southern drawl covering everything from AC/DC to ZZ Top.  “It’s all about the fun and all about the music.”

Jake Gill, well-known for his performances in the 2012 season of The Voice on NBC, will play at 5:30 pm.  His music is best described as a red dirt/rock fusion.  His song “John Deer Rockstar” is a mainstay on the Texas Charts.  “Say…It Goodbye” earned him performances on all three stages at Country Stampede, the first for any artist in the event’s history.

A day pass will be offered for $15; the weekend ticket is $25 and includes tent and dry RV camping at the RV Park. The “VIB” Very Important Biker Pass is available again for $100.00.  This package will be well worth the money and will have benefits that others will envy.

RV sites with water and electric and vendor spots are still available.  The RV Park has showers, rest rooms and a dump station, including beautiful shady spots along the Big Cypress Bayou River.  Bring your boat along with that Harley and dock at the RV Park.

The Rally Bus will be available throughout the weekend for transportation to and from locations in Jefferson for those that would like to park and ride.

Sunday morning devotion will be held at 8:30 a.m., led by Steve Wise Ministry (SteveWise.com). Wise succeeded in motorcycle racing beyond his wildest dreams. He has traveled around the world sharing his faith in Christ at various churches, racetracks and special events.

A portion of the proceeds from the Rally will benefit Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.  The Center is ranked nationally in ten pediatric specialties.  The Rally donation will support the Cardiac Care Unit for children born with heart defects.

The beer garden will be sponsored by Diamond B The Franchise.  Other major sponsors include MCS Mechanical; 98 Rocks; City of Jefferson; Big Pines Lodge; Coors Light; 103.9 The Pig; Alliance Insurance Agency of Dallas; Jefferson Ice House, and The Corkyard.  The Carter Blood Bank will also be onsite again this year.

Jefferson is nestled deep in the Piney Woods of East Texas and seems frozen in time.  It is a charming town and an elegant reminder of a bygone era. There are over a hundred buildings in the city with historical markers. Many historic homes offer bed and breakfast accommodations.  Dozens of other historic buildings house museums, craft and antique shops and restaurants.
