“A Down Home Christmas” Cooking Show Scheduled for Dec. 6
NACOGDOCHES- Want to learn more about entertaining for the holidays? Then join us for “A Down-Home Christmas” sponsored by Kroger on Thursday, December 6. Guests will learn how to effectively and beautifully execute cooking, baking, and entertaining for the holidays with help from local chef, Angela Bradford, and local baker, Cindy Metteauer.
Metteauer is the owner of GCS Cakes where she creates art with her custom cakes, cupcakes, cookies and more. Bradford owns The Appleby Sand Mercantile Café where she cooks up down-home favorites daily. Both ladies truly know the meaning of “the way to the heart is through the stomach.”
Alongside wonderful cooking demonstrations, attendees will have the opportunity to view many unique and budget friendly ways to decorate for all of your holiday events. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages are included with ticket price and raffles will take place throughout the show.
The event will be held at the Nacogdoches County Annex, 203 West Main Street. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the show starting at 6 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are $12 ($15 at the door) and are available at the Nacogdoches Convention and Visitors Bureau, 200 East Main and at Nacogdoches Kroger stores.
The Nine Flags Christmas Festival is a celebration of Texas history & culture and will be held Nov. 17 through Dec. 8 in Nacogdoches, located about 150 miles north of Houston via U.S. 59. Nine different flags have flown over the oldest town in Texas throughout its rich history, and this year’s festival will pay special tribute to the Spanish flag.
