Challenger Seven Memorial Park: Boardwalk Trail
Webster, TX.
This hike takes you from the campgrounds around the Challenger Learning Center to a part of park that has very few people. You pass a fishing lake, hike on a boardwalk, and visit wetlands next to Clear Creek, a natural tributary that empties into Clear Lake, which is adjacent to Galveston Bay. Challenger Seven Memorial Park honors the astronauts who were aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger when it exploded January 28, 1986, 73 seconds after liftoff. The Challenger Memorial is a replica of the logo the crew members themselves designed for the mission.
