Driving Miss Daisy LIVE at the Henderson Civic Theatre

Driving Miss Daisy LIVE at the Henderson Civic Theatre

HENDERSON- Henderson Civic Theatre will present “Driving Miss Daisy” this February. Rehearsals are underway and the show will open February 8.

Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Alfred Uhry, Driving Miss Daisy affectionately covers the twenty-five year relationship between an elderly wealthy, strong-willed Southern matron and her equally indomitable black chauffeur, Hoke, during the 1950’s. Both employer and employee are outsiders: Hoke because of the color of his skin, Miss Daisy because she is Jewish in a WASP-dominated society. Hoke slowly wins Daisy over with his native good graces. Travel the years with these two wonderful characters as they slowly build a relationship that transcends their differences and leads them to the discovery that they are at heart, best friends.
