Get Fed at the Shed

EDOM- At the intersection of Farm and Market roads 279, 314, and 2339, in the quaint little community of Edom stands The Shed. The Shed has been serving up “honest to goodness country cookin’” since 1967. If you like your meals like grandma used to make them and don’t mind getting off the beaten path, then you will love The Shed!

Our team ventured into The Shed this week just in time for brunch, and we are pleased to say we had some of the best biscuits and gravy we have ever eaten! Their biscuits were large and fluffy, with a perfect golden top. In honor of National Pancake Day we also ordered a short stack (2) of  flapjacks which were the perfect end to an amazing brunch.

The atmosphere of The Shed takes you back to days past, when life was just a little slower.  Locals visit and sip coffee over breakfast and do not appear to be in any hurry as they soak up the nostalgia The Shed exudes.

As we were checking out, we met many friendly locals that were eager to visit with us and talk about The Shed. Many of the customers have been eating at The Shed since it opened  and spoke fondly of their memories at the cafe.

Upon check-out we realized The Shed had only set us back about $5 a piece! You can’t beat that.

The Shed features down home meals East Texans love such as chicken fried steak, fried catfish, mouth watering juicy steaks, and all the fixings along with steaming hot dinner rolls fresh out of the oven.  The pies are world-class, from the chocolate meringue to the coconut cream.  And for those of you wanting a savory meal on the lighter side, The Shed offers a heart healthy menu, too.

Before or after your meal, browse The Shed Cafe Shop. The store has colorful and unique clothing, fun accessories, country style nicknacks to decorate your home, one of a kind Hadley pottery, all things Texas, and a whole lot more!
