Grammy-Winning Country Music Superstar Travis Tritt Coming to Crockett
Crockett, TX—Travis Tritt will roll into Crockett to stir up some “T-R-O-U-B-L-E” as he performs all his greats, during an acoustic show on Saturday, January 26th, 7:30pm at the Crockett Civic Center. This show is presented by the Piney Woods Fine Arts Association and tickets are available online at pwfaa.org.

Over the course of his career, Travis Tritt, has delighted fans and disarmed critics by exploring his deep love of hard-core country, flashing an ability and affinity for bluegrass, revealing unexpected sensitivity as a balladeer, winning respect as a formidable songwriter and, most emphatically, drawing widespread recognition as one of the finest vocalists the genre has ever known. A two-time Grammy winner, singer/songwriter Tritt has sold 25 million albums and performed for standing-room-only crowds coast to coast.
Tritt hails from Marietta, Ga and began singing in the church choir at an early age. He started a bluegrass band in high school and afterward began playing the local club circuit. He was noticed by Warner Bros. and signed a contract with them when he was 24 years old. He recorded a few singles with them including “Country Club” and “Help Me Hold On” and later released his debut album “Country Club” in 1989. “Country Club” was certified platinum in 1991 and Tritt was on his way to becoming a country music superstar!
“Growing up just outside Atlanta, to the north of us you’ve got the Grand Ol’ Opry in Nashville,” Tritt explains. “A little bit South you’ve got Macon, Georgia – home of the Allman Brothers, the Marshall Tucker Band and Capricorn Records. And off to west you’ve got Delta blues. Sprinkle Southern gospel over the top of that, and you’re talking about where I came from. I loved all of that music.”
He has released eleven albums in his career including the triple-platinum certified “It’s All About To Change”. In 1992 he recorded “The Whiskey Ain’t Workin’” with Marty Stuart for which he won a Grammy Award. He won his second Grammy in 1998 for his collaboration with Stuart and nine other artists on “Same Old Train”. He has received numerous awards from the Country Music Association and been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1992. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2010.
