Missoula Children’s Theatre needs actors/actresses for production of “Blackbeard the Pirate”

Crockett, Tx— Each summer Montana’s Missoula Children’s Theater visits Crockett to produce an original musical featuring a local cast of up to 60 youngsters. The week-long project starts with auditions on Monday June 15, and culminate in two performances the following Saturday. Children aged 5-18 perform together under the instruction of two professional actors. Due to local financial support Piney Woods has been lucky to receive the children of our community are able to participate at no charge. Registration forms are available online at pwfaa.org.

Among the roles to be cast are Blackbeard and his crew of bearded Pirates; Sailors of the High Seas; cranky Crabs and Crocodiles; magical Mermaids and Seaweed Creatures; Parrots; and even a group of Beach Bums! No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities. Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup so children participating only need to bring energy, imagination and the desire to have fun!!

Missoula Children’s theatre is the largest national-touring children’s’ theatre group. They send teams all over the country to educate, enrich and entertain children through live theatre. During the week the children learn the rehearsal process, stage make-up, improvisational and other confidence building skills to help them in the production of a full-length theatrical production.

This summer’s show is “Blackbeard the Pirate” and auditions are Monday June 15 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Crockett Civic Center with rehearsals all week. The performances are 3:00 and 5:30pm Saturday June 20.
