National Day of the Cowboy at the Jefferson Railway- The Historic Jefferson Railway will recognize the pioneering men and women, known as cowboys, who helped establish America’s frontiers on July 23. This Saturday marks the 7th Annual National Day of the Cowboy. The mission of the National Day of the Cowboy nonprofit organization is to contribute to the preservation of America’s Cowboy heritage so that the history and culture which the United States Congress’s National Day of the Cowboy resolution honors, can be shared and perpetuated for the public good, through education, the arts, celebrations, gatherings, rodeos, and community activities.

Take a ride on an authentic steam train that is a replica of years gone by, with narrated day tours at 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. this Saturday. Also, ghost stories will begin at 8 p.m. followed by a Ghost Train ride at 9 p.m. both Friday and Saturday. Historic Jefferson Railway is located at 400 E. Austin, in Jefferson.
