Sam Houston National Forest: Sand Branch Loop Trail

The Sam Houston National Forest is one of four national forests in Texas. It contains more than 163,000 acres and is located between Huntsville, Conroe, Cleveland, and Richards. Archeological evidence that dates back 7,000 years has been found in a number of sites in the national forest. Any artifacts found must not be disturbed as they are protected by federal and state regulations. Hiking, fishing, and hunting are allowed in most of the national forest.
