Shelby County Bloomin’ On the Square

CENTER- The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce and the Shelby County Beautiful Clean chairman, Roger Doyle, announces the 2nd Annual Shelby County Bloomin’ on the Square to be held on Saturday, April 14. The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on the Center downtown historic square. 

Attendees will have the opportunity to see exhibits, demonstrations, displays, purchase new blooms, Native Texas plants, roses, day lilies, exchange plants and seeds and learn tips on how to plant and enhance their yard.  Lawn equipment, garden tools, a greenhouse and landscape information will be also be available.

The Shelby County Children’s Advocacy Center will hold a “Butterfly Release” at 11:00 a.m. and there will be a children’s Garden Tea Party on the courthouse lawn.

In conjunction with this event the Chamber will be hosting “Shelby County Shred Day”.  Between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. the public and small businesses will be able to bring documents and personal papers to be shredded by “Shred It” a professional company out of Shreveport.  This is a safe and secure means to purge files, dispose of junk mail and eliminate the clutter of paper.  There will be a nominal fee of $5.00 per box with a maximum of ten boxes for each business or individual.
