Palestine Main Street Wine Swirl

Palestine, Texas- Uncork some holiday cheer this December at the 2nd Annual Palestine Main Street Wine Swirl in Downtown Palestine! Saturday, December 12, the streets and stores of historic downtown will host nine Texas wineries for an evening of fun and shopping!

Palestine Independent School District (PISD) Culinary Department, and Executive Chef Christian Mailloux of Red Fire Grille have partnered together to make the 2nd Annual Wine Swirl an exceptional event. Under Mailloux’s direction, local students will prepare specifically designed tastings, perfectly paired with each feature winery.

Shop and sip Texas wines as you stroll through historic downtown. Wineries at the event include: Los Pinos Ranch Vineyards at the Redlands Hotel, Granny Muffin Wines at Art Depot, Landon Winery at Curious Museum, Red Road Winery & Vineyard at Bright Minds, Big Rock Winery at Code Western, 3 P’s In a Vine Winery at Fringe Salon, Caney Creek Winery at Sanctuary Retreat Spa, and Maydelle Country Winery at the Co-Ed Shop.

“The Wine Swirl is definitely a crowd pleaser, said Palestine Main Street Manager Greg Laudadio. “Palestine is where traditions are made, this event is one to look forward to.”

The Wine Swirl will begin at 4p.m. on December 12, and last until 8p.m. Tickets are $25 and are available locally at the Palestine Visitor Center (825 W. Spring St.), and the Palestine Area Chamber of Commerce (401 W. Main). Tickets may also be purchased online at outhousetickets.com, and will be available at the Carnegie Library during the event.

“My husband and I enjoyed the Wine Swirl so much last year! The tour included some of the region’s finest wines. Getting short lessons from each sommelier was also very educational, said last year attendee Kristy Wages. Seeing our downtown architecture, friends in shops, and wine tastings made for a perfect evening.”

“It’s small town entertainment with big city style. Great food, great wine, and great company in the Main Street District prove to be a huge success,” said Heather Calhoun, owner of O’ Sweet Pea.

Ticket holders will receive a wine glass, map, and samples from nine wine and food “tasting rooms.” Swirl packets will be available for pick up at check in at the Carnegie Library, located at 502 N. Queen St.

An after hours wine event will take place at Curious Museum, during “The Science of Wine.” This event is a unique wine and food tasting with an educational twist, and an opportunity to celebrate with others who enjoy the culture of wine.
