Upcoming Auditions for the Annual Houston County Youth Talent Showcase
CROCKETT- The Piney Woods Fine Arts Association is presenting its annual Houston County Youth Talent Showcase on Saturday May 18 at 7:30pm at the Crockett Civic Center. The Showcase has been a long standing tradition at PWFAA and is open to all students in Houston County. This is opportunity for students to perform a work of their choosing in a professionally produced showcase event!!
PWFAA works with the local schools in providing an audition space and has an Arts in Education panelist supervise the auditions. Auditions are judged by an AIE panelist from other schools (AIE panelists will not judge their own school) and PWFAA Board Members.
The following is criteria for the Piney Woods Fine Arts Association’s annual Youth Talent Showcase. :
Each school district will have one audition for the entire district, with students of all levels auditioning on that day.
Students must be dressed in their performance outfit, bring a prepared act and must not change the act, if they are chosen for the Showcase.
The judges will consist of AIE (Arts in Education) Panelist from the other schools in the county and some PWFAA Board Members. An AIE panelist will not serve as judge for his or her own district.
Only those auditioning will be considered.
No single act may be longer than 5 minutes.
All lead vocals must be removed from any performance tape used (no lip-synching).
All students must be K through twelfth grades only, no preschoolers.
Any accompaniment for the featured performer must be approved by your local Arts in Education panelist.
Showcase talent participants must be at rehearsals and dressed in their performance outfit on Tuesday, May 7, at 4:30 P.M. and Saturday, May 18, at 9:00 A.M. at the Crockett Civic Center. The Showcase will begin at 7:30 P.M., May 18.

This year’s Talent Showcase is once again sponsored by Coca-Cola Bottling Company. Adult and student general admission will be $6.00 for Adults and $3.00 for children 18 and younger.
