“Willy Wonka” Live at the Texas Theatre

Palestine – Palestine Community Theatre (PCT) is gearing up to bring audiences a sticky-sweet confection of “Pure Imagination!” Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir will soon come to life at the Historic Texas Theatre in the musical adaptation, with classic songs from the Oscar-nominated family film.

Based on Gene Wilder’s Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971), the play, Willy Wonka” brings the story to the stage, including favorites  songs such as “Pure Imagintaion” and “Candy Man.”  Roald Dahl’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” became a cult classic and has gone on to become one of the most beloved titles in the history of children’s cinema. PCT is excited to bring this classic to one of the oldest and most beautiful theatres in East Texas!

The big red curtain will open on July 20, at 7:30 p.m., after the wine and cheese reception. Please come early at 6:30 p.m. and take part in our Opening Night Gala which will be catered by Chef Simon at Sabor A Pasion. Show dates and times are July 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29 & August 3, 4, 5. Friday and Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday performances begin at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased locally at Dogwood Diner, Education Unlimited and the Palestine Chamber of Commerce.
